The break of dawn above Atacama Desert, one of the driest places on Earth, with the backdrop of high Andes volcanoes near San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. The crepuscular rays appeared before sunrise that appear to radiate from a single point in the sky. These rays, which stream through gaps in clouds at the horizon are diverging columns of sunlit air separated by darker regions which are shadowed by clouds.
