Inside a Ziggurat   -  By: Babak A. Tafreshi

Cuneiform inscriptions on the walls of Chogha Zanbil, a 3200-year old Elamite temple and city (a World Heritage Site) in the Khuzestan, southwestern Iran. It is one of the few existent ziggurats outside of Mesopotamia, and perhaps the world's best preserved. Thousands of baked bricks bearing inscriptions with Elamite cuneiform characters are found in and around the ziggurat, all inscribed by hand. It is only 30 km from Susa, another ancient city.
