The Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park; a World Heritage Site in the Northern Territory is best known for Uluru or the Ayers Rock, a ‪‎sacred‬ site of ‪aboriginal‬ culture. About 3.6 km long, the rock is an inselberg or island mountain in geology. It extends about 5 km beneath the desert and rises 348 meters above the plain.
