Night sky in a misty night from the hilltop town of Monsaraz in the Alentejo region of Portugal. Due to its geographic position Monsaraz have been occupied by different peoples since the pre-historical record, as one of the oldest Portuguese settlements. In the sky are winter stars in constellation Orion and Canis Major. The brightest point is Sirius, the brightest star in the entire night sky.
