The 100 inch Hooker telescope on the Mount Wilson Observatory near Los Angeles. The 2.5 m reflector telescope was the largest in the world from its completion in 1917 until the 200-inch Hale telescope at Palomar Observatory was built in 1948. Updated wit new technologies and detectors it is still in used for research.
