The Milky Way In All Its Magnificence   -  By: Babak A. Tafreshi

A fish-eye view (fulldome) of the Milky Way over the European Southern Observatory (ESO) 3.6-metre telescope on La Silla, southern Atacama Desert, Chile. The telescope is home to the world's foremost extrasolar planet hunter: the High Accuracy Radial velocity Planet Searcher (HARPS). On the lower right the Magellanic Clouds appear over the light of La Serena, a coastal city 150 km away. On top Mars is the brightest point in the sky.
