Stars over Tucson   -  By: Babak A. Tafreshi

The Milky Way from Cygnus to Cassiopeia and Perseus appears from the Kitt Peak Observatory, over lights of Tucson, some 70 km away. The McMath–Pierce solar telescope is in the foreground. Pleiades star cluster is rising above the solar telescope and Jupiter is the bright point at the lower right. Despite the light of nearby Tucson high transparency of Kitt Peak mountain allows precise astronomical observation and fairly dark night sky.
