Paris Observatory is one of the most important astronomical centers in the world. While observations are not carried out from the historic building anymore, the observatory's astronomers are using the world leading telescopes in remote observing locations. The historic building is on the Left Bank of the Seine River in central Paris. Being completed in 1671 it was the world's first major observatory using telescopes.
