A Starry Night of Santorini   -  By: Babak A. Tafreshi

The starry sky appears in an exceptional night over the town of Oia, Santorini island, Greece. The island is known with its postcard iconic views of the cliff-top towns at the edge of Santorini caldera in the southern Aegean Sea. But the view at night is dominated by thousands of lights in this tourist hotspot. This image is made during a major blackout in August 2013 due to fire in the main power station. In the sky are the prominent stars of Big Dipper (the main part of constellation Ursa Major).
