The Milky Way and a streaking meteor appears in the starry sky of Mono Lake in California, famous for its stunning exposed tufa towers; limestone formed by the precipitation of carbonate minerals in water. A city in the far north caused the white-yellow glow at the horizon. The green glow above it is a strong appearance of airgolow, usually very faint natural glow of the Earth upper atmosphere.
