It's midnight in northern Norway but at this far north location, above the Arctic circle, days never end in June and July, near the summer solstice. The Sun doesn't set and only glides close to the northern horizon at it's lowest. The midnight sun is photographed here the last Venus Transit of our time. Venus appears as a black dot on the upper left of the solar disc during the beginning of 6 June 2012 transit along with with few sunspots which appear smaller and pale dark compared to Venus. The Transit of Venus is a rare celestial phenomena happens only twice in each century. The next transit arrives in the year 2117.
